I am having an issue with the tuner on GDK. When I press Run Autotuner I get the error " Tunning algorithm failed".
I am using the following stepper motor :

Danaher Motion 1.8 Step Motor
Type: T22NRLG-LNN-NS-00
3.13 V 2.5 A

Obtained datasheet from the following:
https://www.kollmorgen.com/en-us/products/motors/stepper/pmx-series/#ta…

have checked and had others confirmed the A and B connections. Have checked connections with a multimeter and there are no disconnects.

my Tunning algorithm set up is as follows
Pulse magnitude 3 V pulse duration 20ms.

I have already been able to set up, run and tune a servo on the same DMC4183.
However, I get the mentioned error for my stepper connection.
I have tried the ports E-F-G-H one by one which are the manufacturer assigned for stepper motor when I was ordering. I get the same error.

Additionally, when i send a test signal using the " send Test Signal" command I do not see any motion.

Please advise.

Hello elviswong0226,
To tune PID parameters you would need some type of feedback to close the loop.
Unlike servo motors, stepper motors are usually ran open loop. To close the loop with steppers, you would need an encoder and a special firmware.
Please contact support@galil.com to talk to an applications engineer about a solution for your system.
