My company recently took delivery of a DMC-4183, with an AMP-43040 on the first four channels.

The issue I'm having is that when running a BLDC servo motor, the motor runs but I get a "shudder" in the armature which increases in amplitude with load applied to the motor. What's weird is that this only happens on the "C" channel. If I plug the same motor/encoder into the A, B, or D channels, the motor runs perfectly smoothly.

It's almost as if one of the phases on the C-channel is not being delivered.

To eliminate any issues of program or configuration, I've done a master reset on the controller. The only thing I changed after that was the motor type, so the motor direction is correct to the encoder and doesn't run away.

This controller is brand new. Do I have a bad amp channel?

Maser228-

I would suggest you give us a call in Applications. It could be a few things such as the motor specs or the wiring but we can troubleshoot that over the phone. Our number is (916) 646-0101.
